WhatsApp credits

WhatsApp messages are billed separately from your platform plan. If the channel is connected through Gupshup, they are paid for from your WhatsApp credit balance inside Kulpunai.

The balance is under Settings → Billing, in the WhatsApp credits block.

What the balance shows

  • Available — what is left;
  • Spent since last top-up;
  • Lifetime purchased and lifetime spent;
  • When the data was last synced with the provider.

The refresh button pulls current figures from the provider.

Topping up

  1. Click to buy credits in the WhatsApp block.
  2. Enter the amount.
  3. Pay.

Credits land on your account shortly after payment.

Warnings

  • Low balance — the platform warns you that funds are running low;
  • Sending blocked — once the balance falls below the minimum threshold, WhatsApp messages stop going out. Incoming customer messages keep arriving.

Things to keep in mind

  • Check the balance before a broadcast through Campaigns → WhatsApp, or sending will stop halfway through.
  • The cost of a message depends on its type and the recipient's country — Meta sets those rates.
  • If WhatsApp is connected through Twilio or 360Dialog, you pay those providers directly and this balance is not used.
